Can you believe that the health care/medical industry is not an option under work?! WTF, Blogger? I work for an enormous hospital writing the stuff that gets cancer research studies approved. I think I'm funny, I'm a good cook, and I'm living in sin with my boyfriend.

I feel like I should have more to talk about. Things have been pretty quiet lately, though. Matt and I hit a little rough patch, but we're working it out. That's a little too personal to post here, though. Lisa Marie and I are going on a roadtrip in 2 weeks, which I'm really looking forward to. Ever get the feeling that you need to leave the state for a few days? Not because the mafia is after you, or the FBI. Just the feeling that you need a break, and out of town just isn't going to be far enough away. I've got that right now. So I'm looking forward to this little refresher with Lisa Marie.
Things are going good with my parents. I got major kudos from my Dad for his Father's Day gift. My Dad and I share a graduation year; me from high school, him with his first Associates Degree. My Mom took a picture of the two of us in our regalia in our old backyard. For Father's Day, I got that picture enlarged and framed. I also got him a book (at Matt's insistance) called "Why A Daughter Needs a Dad - 100 Reasons". The inscription I put in the front read "A daughter needs a dad to teach her how to drive, the difference between a Philips and a flathead, and to teach her when to fight her own battles, and when to ask for help." Now, considering I've had my Dad wrapped around my little finger since I squeezed his with my whole hand, he became a big puddle of Dad-goo. And Robert got him a Visa giftcard. Like the book said, a daughter needs a dad to teach her what it feels like to be somebody's favorite.
I'm trying to run a little interference on Matt's behalf with my family, though. You all know my brother is getting married in August. Well, he and one of his groomsmen (who is getting married soon, too) want to buy their tuxedos. And they want to visit Matt (who works in a men's clothing store) to buy them. Now, you all know how much I don't like my brother; imagine how my protective boyfriend feels about him. So when I told Mom that Matt doesn't really like Robert, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea for him to buy a tux from him, Mom's answer was "nobody really likes Robert right now." Mmmm, this wedding will be interesting.
At any rate, I'm just wasting time at work trying to keep from having to go into my main office to be a file/copy monkey. You'd think I had a BA in Xeroxing instead of Psychology.
Ooh, speaking of school, I'm at a point where I'm seriously considering graduate school (yikes!). If anyone has a sorta recent copy of a GRE study guide they're willing to loan me, I'd love it.
Have a great day!
