How It Went, and Other Stories Involving Goals
Quick follow-up on the Interview. Eh. I don't know how it went. Steve, who was formerly very easy to read, has become more shielded in the past several months. He was very even - I didn't catch any tipping of the scales in either direction. He asked all the usual questions, mostly focused on my conflict management experience. So here's the interesting part. The role Kim currently serves in my office is predominantly quality management - claim and screening review. That will no longer be the role of the ADM - it will become an occasional spot-check for the ADM, and someone elses' responsibility the rest of the time. The ADM will now be responsible for maintaining our relationship with the hospital staff. The occasional drop-in to each facility to have some face-time with the departments we interact with the most. Alot of reporting, checking stats, that sort of thing. So the duties aren't as appealing to me now, but here's the thing. Carla, the competition, is excellent at the QM part - the screening of patients, that sort of thing. Everyone is well aware that I am friendly/professional/talkative - all very important character traits to have in the new job description. Carla is much more reserved, very quiet. With my being so good at relationship building, I think this increases my chances at the job. I'm still not sure if I'm actually going to get it or not, but only time will tell. I'll keep you posted.
I thought I'd update you on my adventures in weight loss. I signed up on eDiets a few weeks ago. Up until this past weekend at the Cottage with my friends, I'd lost 3 pounds, but gained 1 back from my misbehaving. I'm actually really impressed with the way it works. I eat a ton of fruits and salads, which I really like. I'm rarely hungry, & get lots of variety. I think I could stick with this. They have support groups, so I'm on a message board that I find very helpful. I can even "chat" with a Nutrition Specialist to answer questions, which is also very nice. Not bad for $16/mo. It's progressive; I can stick with this! More motivation is that Fine Arts announced that the spring musical is going to be Guys and Dolls, which I ADORE. I've got Sarah Brown written all over me!
Anyway, on vacation this week. My Brother the Troll will wed his Child Bride this Saturday. Mom and I are getting a mani/pedi on Friday. Matt will come with me for all the festivities, I'm sure he's thrilled. I appreciate his putting in the face time with my family, though.
Off I go. I'll update again when I have news!!!
